The Right Ingredient: Speakers on Diversity And Inclusion

If you're looking to differentiate yourself from competitors, attract top talent, and boost revenue, the key lies in building a diverse workforce.

You might be unsure about how exactly to do that. We’ve got you covered. Engage the best diversity speakers for your next corporate event through Speaker Agency.

Diversity speakers can help to raise awareness about social issues and challenge existing stereotypes and assumptions. They also talk about the steps to take to boost diversity at work.

All of these can help transform your workplace. That way, you ensure your company gains a competitive advantage that can be hard to beat. This type of diversity training will work better for employee engagement as well.

Why do you need diversity speakers?

It has been well-established that a diverse workforce is a more effective workforce and a better work environment. It is "the right thing to do," in terms of meeting today’s expectations for a healthy work environment. But at the same time, it allows the benefits of diversity in the workplace to extend to all realms of your business.

According to a McKinsey study, companies that prioritize diversity have a 28 percent higher likelihood of outperforming their peers financially.

And, companies that are the top performers in terms of equality and diversity enjoy higher stock returns.

Diversity at work is also the most important factor that 76 percent of job seekers evaluate before accepting offers.

And, diversity also boosts innovation, promotes smarter decision-making, and helps you build stronger relationships with customers.

But, your company might be lagging behind when it comes to diversity. Why not consider hiring an inspirational diversity speaker for the next corporate event? This may just be the turning point you need.

How do diversity speakers add value to an event?

Diversity speakers can add immense value to your event. They can share data and research on the benefits of diversity in recruitment. They can also challenge biases and stereotypes by sharing their experiences.

Here are some ways they can make a difference to your event, and your company:

Enhancing awareness and understanding: Diversity speakers can help raise awareness and understanding about different cultures, experiences, and perspectives. This includes understanding of gender identity and sexual orientation.

They can provide insights into the challenges faced by individuals from diverse backgrounds. These talented keyword speakers can offer strategies for building more inclusive environments and equitable workplaces. They can explain why diverse candidates matter and a hiring process with diverse candidates is an exercise itself.

For instance, in this video, diversity speaker and researcher, Rocío Lorenzo, delves into the statistics to showcase why diversity at work is important and how it helps companies gain a competitive advantage.

Promoting empathy: Diversity speakers can help create a more inclusive and welcoming environment by promoting empathy, understanding, and respect for diversity.

Some of these speakers are leaders in diversity training programs. They can provide guidance on how to create an inclusive culture that values and leverages the strengths of all employees. Building a diverse team and having diverse groups in your organization are strengths points.

Insights on how to leverage diversity: A diverse and inclusive workforce can foster innovation and creativity. These can be achieved by bringing together different perspectives and ideas. Diversity speakers can offer insights into how to leverage diversity as a driver of innovation and competitiveness.

In this video, Janet Stovall, one of the well-known diversity and inclusion speakers, offers a three-step strategy for building workplaces that foster a sense of security and empower employees to be their genuine, unadulterated selves.

Diversity speakers can offer insights into how to leverage diversity as a driver of innovation and competitiveness.

Diversity in leadership: Diversity speakers can play a critical role in promoting diversity in leadership. They raise awareness about the benefits of diversity and the potential negative consequences of lacking diversity in decision-making positions.

By sharing their own experiences and insights, they can help inspire individuals and organizations to take action to promote diversity in leadership.

Diversity speakers can also offer education and training on how to build a diverse and inclusive workforce. This can include strategies for recruiting and retaining diverse talent, identifying and overcoming unconscious biases, and fostering a culture of inclusivity.

Serving as role models: Diversity speakers can serve as role models and examples of the benefits of diversity in leadership.

By sharing their personal experiences and success stories, they can inspire individuals from diverse backgrounds to pursue leadership roles and demonstrate the value of diversity in decision-making positions.

In this talk, diversity speaker and creative recruiter, Nikky Lyle, makes a case for 'recruiting with a conscience' and not merely hiring people from diverse backgrounds for the sake of it. An alternative way of looking into talent acquisition, she embraces diversity as a strength in the process. Bottom line, she sees it as a tool in problem solving.

She gives an interesting analogy of how diversity works. People feel like stuffing down oat bran just because it's good for them. Instead, it should be like eating out every day at a wonderful new restaurant.

What topics on inclusion and diversity do the diversity speakers cover?

Diversity speakers can cover a wide range of topics related to inclusion and diversity, including:

  • Intersectionality
  • Unconscious bias
  • Diversity in recruitment
  • Inclusive leadership
  • Gender representation
  • Racial equality / Racial Bias
  • The pitfalls of cultural blindness
