Mirgun Cabas is a graduate of Journalism at the Faculty of Communication in Ankara University. He started his journalism career Milliyet Newspaper, Ankara Office in 1992. He became a television reporter in ATV Ankara in 1995. He was the special correspondent on prime ministry and parliamentary for ATV. He joined NTV in İstanbul in 1998. He has presented and directed news reports, discussion programs, newsflash and private broadcasting bands on the topics of terrorism, natural disasters and crises, and did special broadcasts on election nights for about 15 years at NTV.
More than 10 programs were produced and presented by him for NTV and are listed below: Güne Başlarken(Getting the Day), 24 Saat (24 hours)(with Banu Güven), Haber Merkezi (News Center), Yazı İşleri (Editorial Department)(with Ruşen Çakır), Her Şey (Everything). He worked as news director and coordinator at NTV News Center.
He lectured on Political Journalism at the Department of Television of Bilgi University.
He prepared the program “Everywhere” whose content included culture and current events that he observed when he was travelling with his motorcycle in 2011 and 2012. It aired in summer broadcasting seasons.
After 20 years of experience in journalism, he has been currently working as the chief editor of the Turkey edition of GQ magazine. GQ is a brand which is owned by one of the world’s largest international broadcast networks and published by Doğuş Media Group.
