Dr. Bahar Eriş is an academic and author specializing in gifted education and talent development in children. After graduating from the Department of Translation and Interpreting at Boğaziçi University, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to pursue graduate studies in the United States. Between 1998 and 2004, she studied at Columbia University's Teachers College in New York, earning both her master's degree and doctorate in gifted and talented education. Throughout her six years of doctoral study, she also served as a preschool teacher at Teachers College. Upon returning to Turkey, Dr. Eriş taught courses on gifted education at Boğaziçi University's Faculty of Education for a decade (2004–2014). From 2015 to 2017, she served as Assistant Professor at Bahçeşehir University's Gifted Education Program, delivering graduate-level courses. In 2017, she launched MomTalks — a platform bringing together experts and parents with the aim of raising family awareness. The initiative has grown into one of Turkey's largest family-expert summits. Dr. Eriş writes a monthly column titled "Dahice Dedikodular" (Brilliant Gossip) for OT Magazine and contributes education-focused op-eds to national newspapers. A practicing professional conference interpreter for over 25 years, she is also a member of the Turkish Conference Interpreters Association. At the core of her philosophy is the conviction that every child deserves the best possible education and carries within them unique talents waiting to be discovered.
